This is the Paper Builder, not the worksheet. Your browser is printing the page around the worksheet rather than the worksheet itself. Close this dialog and use the Print button in the viewer’s own toolbar, which prints the worksheet and nothing else.

Using the Paper Builder

Six steps from an empty page to a worksheet on the printer.

  1. Find the questions. Open a topic in the left column and tick a sub-topic, or narrow by difficulty, question type, year, paper or school. The chips stack, so Standard + 2025 + Paper 2 shows only that. Typing a word in the search box finds it anywhere in a question.
  2. Add them to the worksheet. Tick the box beside a question, or — faster — use the Warm-up, Core and Stretch buttons under each sub-topic to drop that many random questions of that level straight in. Those three are the old Foundational, Standard and Challenging under names that say what the question is for in a lesson; the printed worksheet still uses the formal names. The number on the right of each button is how many are still unused, and Quick add at the top sets how many go in per click. Add all matching takes everything currently filtered.
    Your selection stays put while you change filters, and survives closing the tab.
  3. Check the balance. The panel on the right shows questions, marks and how long the set should take a pupil, with a coloured bar for the foundational / standard / challenging mix. Trim or add until it fits your lesson.
  4. Preview it. The Preview worksheet tab shows exactly what will print, in order, with the figures. Show answer reveals the school's answer and working for checking, and unticking the box beside a question takes it straight out of the worksheet — the quickest way to trim a set down.
  5. Set the options. Concepts & Methods puts the theory for the sub-topics you chose at the front — turn it off for a timed set. Answer key adds worked solutions at the back. Writing space sets how much room each question gets. Paper is A4 or US Letter. A title is optional.
  6. Generate the PDF. It opens in a viewer on top of the page, drawn page by page so it reads the same on a phone as on a desktop. The toolbar offers Save PDF and Print — whichever of them this browser will actually honour; a control that cannot work here is not shown rather than left to fail. Note that your browser's own Ctrl+P prints the Builder, not the worksheet, because the Builder runs inside a frame; the Print button is the one that prints the worksheet.
    You get a cover with a name and marks strip, the concepts pages, the questions, then the answer key. The key always starts on a right-hand page so you can print double-sided and tear it off.
